Mission Statement

SOS Family Services is a sister organization to Word of Hope Ministries, Inc. Our mission is to strengthen families in the community by providing supportive services. Helping them move into a positive mode with sound direction and guidance. Learning to be constructive in their way of thinking, giving and helping each other. Implementing programs to develop the whole man by targeting Heart, Soul, Physical, Intellectual, Social and Moral development.

Community Development Project

In recognition of the complexity of social, educational and economic disparities plaguing the disempowered communities of Staten Island, Source of Strength Family Services, Inc. sets out to pursue a systemic solution to these disparities through growth and development of the disempowered. By way of contextual programming, we commit to providing the necessary skills: both job specific and personal to produce and empower productive, self-sufficient members of society. Thereby, creating the human energy needed to reach lofty goals by supporting and encouraging those within our communities who have the determination and motivation to excel in their personal and professional lives, while creating significant value for themselves, the organizations they contribute to, the communities from which they come and society. We connect individuals in the community with additional social services as needed. Also providing grief counseling, crisis intervention within the family, spiritual coaching and offering employment opportunities. Assist in developing parenting skills as well as coping skills and domestic abuse support.
